Law Faculty Laboratory
As a mean of performer and contributor in teaching, learning, research, and community service moreover in developing the professionalism in the field of law, the existance of Law Faculty laboratory is a must (Conditiosine Quanon). Law Faculty laboratory in UMM legally built and showing its existance since 1993. For the first built, structurally and organizationally, Law Faculty laboratory had not been approved yet even it is in the area of Law Faculty of UMM. The fact gives a logic concequence that Law Faculty laboratory activity is limited on the implementation of Mood Court (Peradilan Semu) for student.
To be aware of Law Faculty laboratory existance, the government also aware of its importance, through The Statement Letter of Educational and Cultural Ministry No. 17/DO/1994 which is revised by the Statment of Letter No. 0325/U/1994 declared that the government is not only delete the departments in Law Faculty on the entire of Indonesia but also legalize the existance of Law Faculty laboratory which is used as the core of activity in Law Faculty. Its existance also use to activate the circulation of theory (Das Solen) to be applicable for real life (Das Sain), so that, law is not only understand as a stiff written but it is a life and develop along with dynamics development of life itself.
Through those Statement of Letters above, local curriculum content of Law Faculty is only a kinds of practical thing. Furthermore, with the Statement of Letter mentioned, it clearly determine with the credits load for 6 credits so called as the subject of Kemahiran Hukum (MKKH). moreover, laboratory functions organizer to arrage the system and mechanism of MKK implementation.
In order to carry out those official mandates, Law Faculty laboratory arrage the program as follows:
A. Law Education and Training Division
1). PThe one who will be responsible on organizing the subject, practicum, and student internship.
2). Organizing the subjects of Law Proficiency, such as:
a). Training on arranging event and advocation
b). Training on organizing formal document and bussiness proficiency.
c). Training of organizing pertaining land and tax.
Kinds of training can be seen at Chapter III of this guidance book, kinds of training, someday, can be changed and developed anytimes along with the change and development of law practice in the community.
3). Arranging some practical law training out of regular subjects, such as:
a). Training of MAPS (Alternative Method on Solving the Legal Dispute) in the field of land, slavery, and environment etc.
b). Practical Training on Law Assistance ( KALABAHU ).
c). Education and Advocation Training, etc.
BThe Division of Law faculty Laboratory which handle the training program is Center of Education and Training (Pusdiklat).
B. Documentation and Law Research Division
1). To document on the constitution, verdict, law research finding, and some other needed information of law.
2). To document all law research finding.
3). To inventory and collect Indonesian positive law sources.
The division which organizes the program on documentation and reseach is The Center of Law Documentation (PDH).
C. Law Consultation and Service Division
1). Organize and Coordinate Law illumination for the community by the the lecturer of Law Faculty UMM, using direct method or even other media.
2). Organize the guided village which is aware of rule in Malang Regency and around.
3). Give a service and law consultation either it is litigation or even it is non-litigation for all academicians and community.
BThe division which organizes law consultation program is Laboratory of Consultation and Law Service (LKPH).
Generally, laboratory of Law Faculty functions as supporting tool of teaching and learning process and another academic activity involving as a venue for student supervising in exploring the knowledge of law practice.
