Malang (6/10) - The increasingly heated conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the potential for human rights violations and various other contemporary issues in international law, are topics that continue to spark discussion among academics. Responding to these issues, FH UMM presented Prof. Eric. T. Jensen, International Law Expert and Director of the LM Program from Brigham Young University, USA.

Located in the GKB IV Hall, 9th Floor of UMM, the guest lecture agenda (6/10) targeted students in the FH UMM, especially students in international classes. Also present on the agenda was Dr. (H.C) Priyo Iswanto, former Indonesian Ambassador to Colombia.

"Through this guest lecture, I was able to gain insight (that I don't get in my usual lecture classes) into the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. That the neutral attitude shown by Indonesia does not mean that Indonesia is not doing anything, but Indonesia is trying to reconcile the two, finding the best solution so that peace can be created." Said Rio R, a new student from the international class of FH UMM.

Prof. Eric, in the QnA session also gave tips and tricks for students to be successful in the future, First, don't give up on the situation, continue to process and improve yourself from day to day. Second, keep writing, both on blogs and even scientific papers published in journals. Because by writing and attracting the attention of others, then you will invite others to think and spawn the same ideas as you convey. Third, make the environment around you (including your social media), great people and all the resources available, to make you a great person, collaborate with them, especially with people out there.
