Malang (26/6) - The issue of human rights is now back on the lips. Starting from the increasing repressive actions and de-radicalization carried out by the Chinese Government against Uighur Muslims, to the events of 21-22 May in Indonesia which had caught the world's attention.

Seeing this reality, FH UMM took the initiative to hold a guest lecture with the main topic of human rights. Located in the GKB IV Hall, 9th floor, the speaker was a human rights expert and Professor of Brigham Young University (BYU) Law School, United States, Prof. Brett G. Scharffs.

"Restoring Human Dignity for Everyone Everywhere: The Possible Contribution for Indonesia" was chosen as the theme of the guest lecture this time, Prof. Brett revealed that human rights are rights inherent in every human being since he was born, so that every human being has dignity that must be valued and respected, whenever and wherever he is.

On the occasion of the guest lecture, Prof. Brett hoped that the Indonesian nation with all the wealth it has, can take part in efforts to respect, to protect and to fulfill human rights. (saf/hum)
