Master Level Course: FH UMM Collaboration with Ministry of Religious Affairs and World Famous Campus

Malang (28/6) - Master Level Course (MLC) is a workshop that is regularly organized by UMM. After a hiatus for a year, in 2019 UMM again organized MLC. This time, UMM was represented by the Faculty of Law and the Center for Islamic Studies and Philosophy (PSIF). In addition to internal UMM, this year's MLC also collaborated with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and world-renowned campuses, namely BYU (USA) and Oslo University (Norway).

Taking the theme "Strengthening Sharia Based Human Rights for Developing Multicultural Attitudes in Religion", this year's MLC was held on June 26-28, 2019 at the Kapal Garden Sengkaling Hotel. The number of MLC participants this time broke the record for the most participants in the history of the MLC, namely 42 participants. The MLC, which was designed as a workshop equivalent to a Master's degree, presented experts in the fields of human rights and Sharia. The participants were from all over the archipelago.

Also present as MLC presenters, namely: Prof. Brett G. Scharffs (BYU Law School), Prof. Tore Lindholm (Oslo Uni), Lena Larsen, PhD (Oso Uni) Dr. Siti Ruhaini D (Chair of the OIC Human Rights Commission), Cekli Setya P, LLM (FH UMM) and Pradana Boy ZTF, PhD (Presidential Staff for Religious Affairs). This time, the MLC was opened directly by UMM Vice Chancellor I, Prof. Syamsul Arifin, as well as closed with his story of initiating the MLC several years ago.
