Biography:

Prof. Dr. Tongat, SH., M.Hum is a permanent lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Muhammadiyah Malang since 1994 until now. He earned his Professorship in 2023. He currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Law, UMM (2021-2025). He actively writes books, scientific articles published in various accredited national scientific journals, reputable international scientific journals, and in international proceedings. As a criminal law expert, Prof. Dr. Tongat, SH., M.Hum is often asked to give lectures at various campuses both domestically and abroad. Most recently, he gave a lecture as a Guest Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He is also often asked to provide testimony as an expert in trials of various criminal cases in court such as Corruption Crimes, Pre-Trial, etc.

Prof. Dr. Tongat, SH., M.Hum has extensive experience in leading organizations/associations, including as Chair of the Law Faculty Deans' Forum of Muhammadiyah and Aisiyah Universities (2022-2024), Deputy Chair of the Association of Indonesian Law College Leaders (2022-2026), Chair of the East Java DPD Mahupiki (2021-2025).
