Dr. Herwastuti holds her Bachelor of Law from Brawijaya University in 1986, and Master of Sociology from Muhammadiyah University of Malang in 1998. In 2020, She earns her Doctoral degree from Surakarta State University. She teaches Trade Law, Banking Law, the Protection of Consumer Law, Financing Law, Legal Aspect of Business, and Political Science. She published various papers, such as Bankruptcy of a Limited Liability Company (The Analysis of Case Studies in Commercial Court (Humanity, 1(2), 2006); The Compliance of the Investment Law No. 25 Year 2007 on Perspective of Indonesia Constitution (Jurnal Konstitusi, II (2), 2009); and The Advocacy Model of Consumers Empowerment (Adil Journal, 1 (3), 2010). Her current research project are Global Economic and Bank Liberation (The Juridical Analysis Towards the Implementation of Single Presence Policy on the Perspective of Business Competition Law in the Indonesian Banking Industry, Block Grant, 2011); Bank Restructure: An Effort to Encourage the Stability of Bank Industrialization in Indonesia, Block Grant, 2012; and The Establishment of Finance Service Authority in Bank Sector; Block Grant, 2015).
